Backyard Flyers are Great!

Convenient, Slow Flying, and Affordable!

Backyard flyers are small, light weight electric powered RC airplanes. They are designed with plenty of lift which makes them fly extremely slowly. They also require very little space to fly!

The slow speeds provide the beginner with plenty of reaction time when learning the controls. Their lightweight construction makes them very durable, and they are easily repaired if they are damaged during in an...um.. unexpected landing...

Don't get the idea that these little planes are only for beginners. Many seasoned pilots have a slow flyer or two in the hanger for one of those lazy days when a slow relaxing flight is in order.

ARF or RTF?

Some slow flyers are available as Almost Ready to Fly airplanes (ARF's). Others are Ready To Fly airplanes (RTF's).

A conventional ARF RC airplane includes only the airframe and requires a radio system, batteries, and motor/speed controller. The ARF version of these small electric flyers are a little bit different from a conventional ARF because most do come with a motor.

There are a few of these small electric planes that come without the motor, just like a conventional ARF. These will have a "NPS" designation, which stands for No Power System.

ARF Backyard Flyers

The GWS Slow Stick is one of the most popular slow flying electric planes on the market. Its design is very typical of these types of RC airplanes. It consists of a rigid "stick" with a set of wings and a tail attached.

The GWS Slow Stick is available as a standard EP(electric powered) ARF and is also available as an NPS ARF.

The Pico Stick Slow Flyer is a miniature version of the Slow Stick. In fact, it is so small that it can actually be flown indoors such as gymnasiums or warehouses!

RTF Slow Flyers

Are you looking for a backyard slow flyer that you can simply buy, charge and fly? Then a RTF slow flying electric plane is right up your alley!

A Ready to Fly airplane makes it really convenient if you're unsure which radio system, motor, or batteries to use. Or if your just too lazy to install the electronics!

The ParkZone Night Vapor is an extremely flow flying airplane decked out with LED lights. The RTF version comes with everything including the transmitter, built-in receiver, batteries, rechargeable Lipo battery and charger.

This bird is small enough to be flown in a small living room!
