Volantex Trainstar Exchange Motor Problems

I have a Volantex Trainstar Exchange, and after a mild crash in the grass, the motor twitches and will not go. So I installed a brand new 1250kv motor I had for a spare and when I power it up it only beeps "once". Not the usual 3 cell beeps plus the armed beep. It works, but at 50% or less throttle,

I can put 2 fingers on the outer can and stop it very easily. Then when I push the throttle up to full, nothing. I have to move the throttle back to the bottom, and then it will run again when I move the throttle up. Anything over 50%, if I try to stop it, I can not.

Also, I did this test with no prop installed, and have not installed it yet. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
