RC Electrical Components

by Christine Carney

I teach in a Makerspace in MA and I have a student who is interested in creating his own RC plane from scratch. We have a number of electronic components available to us so we're trying to get this done as inexpensively as possible. Think proof of concept more than professional perfection.

Our biggest hurdle has been the receiver/transmitter and whether the controllers that we have (Drone and others) are compatible. Is there any wisdom you could share?

Thank you.

Please provide more details to brand and number of channels the transmitter and receiver you have available.

I highly recommend suggesting looking at Flite Test for how to build a plane from scratch using foam board. Make it fly as a chick glider first, then add r/c gear once it glides well.
