EDF Vacuum Cleaner for Model Railroad

by John

Hi, I'm not an electric flyer but a model railroader with an idea.

My idea (not original by any means) is to build a vacuum cleaner for my train tracks.

I have a 37mm EDF, a 10amp ESC and a servo exerciser.

I have two questions, one can I run this set up from a DC source other than battery?

And can I use my servo exerciser to program/control the EDF?

Thanks for your time. John

Yes IF AND ONLY IF done correctly. See these forum threads:

I'm going to assume you want to use this blow the dust away from the EDF motor because ingesting said dirt will cause the EDF to fail, possibly throwing fan blades if broken.
