Dynam Waco problems

by Lew Sharpless
(Pocono Lake, PA)

This plane just won't fly. It came with a crooked vertical stabilizer and rudder. The horizontal stabilizer isn't the straightest either. I've reinforced the rudder with piano wire, and tried to straighten out the horizontal stabilizer, but things are still slightly out of wack. Do I dare hit it with a heat gun? Could there be other issues that make this plan completely squirrely?

Could be other issues:

Thrust angle of motor.

Wing incidence.

Horizontal stab not centered.

Distance difference laterally from tip of horizontal stab tip to wing tips.

Wings warped.

Unequal aileron travel
