Redundant Systems for RC Plane

I am in need of a redundant reciever battery combination. I can find no info on how to safely implement this.

I have heard of them being used in large scale models but can find no informaion on them.

If you could direct me to someone or site that might be useful. I would appreciate it.

I've been flying for years but never felt the need for it before.
