ASP 108 Engine Transition Problem

I have been tuning this engine for a week and cannot get the full throttle to idle transition just right.

It seems to holds RPM's through the mid range for a bit before it decides to drop the rpm. I had it tuned nicely with the cowl off and a 3 hose tank system.

I then installed cowl with fuel filler valve and have had problems since then. Would the filler valve be leaning out the mixture?

Yes, the fuel filler could be causing issues. I've seen problems with these for years (20+) and therefore we've not used them in our nitro birds. I recommend try bypassing the filler on the plane and see what happens. If the engine runs fine, then you'll know it's the filler valve.
