Where to buy RC airplane kits

Hey,

I want to start off by saying that I've been to many websites about RC planes and yours by FAR is the most helpful. So thank you.

But I still have a question. I want to build my own RC plane from a kit that contains some wood and blueprints/instructions. In other words, I want to do all the work (cutting, gluing etc.), but not having to find materials myself.

If you know where I can purchase such kits for jets or airplanes it would be great!

Hello,

First off, I would like to say thanks for the complements about my site. Comments like that make my feel that my efforts have been worth it.

All kits come with all the wood, blueprints, hardware, etc that you need. You will have to provide the glue, tools, covering, etc. There is a list on my Building RC Airplanes Page that covers most of what you will have to buy in addition to the kit itself. Look under tools and supplies.

The bottom of that page lists some of the kits from Sig, Carl Goldberg, Great Planes, and Midwest. These are all reputable companies.

If your new to flying and want to build a trainer, I highly recommend that you check out this page listing the most popular trainer airplanes. I made a chart above each manufacture that shows which ones are available as kits.

Just to clarify, all "Kits" come with the things you mentioned. It is building from "Scratch" that you must purchase the wood and all other parts separately. Most everyone builds from kits. Only very experienced modelers looking for a challenge build from scratch.
