Follow the Bind Process

I'd recommend the following:

Find a spare ESC.
Connect the ESC to the throttle position on the RX, ensure proper connections for the positive and negative wires.
Connect bind plug to the battery position
Set TX to the aircraft model slot you desire.
Turn off TX
Plug battery into ESC, wait for light on RX to blink super fast
Turn on TX while pressing the proper bind button
Wait for TX to indicate the bind happened.
During the binding I'd recommend standing back 5 steps from the RX to ensure you're not too close.
Once TX says binding complete, release bind button.
Remove the bind plug.

If TX says transmitting instead of binding, try again.

I recently had a similar issue tryign to move an RX from one crashed plane to another and only had success with the above steps, primarily with having the TX too close and not off when the RX powered off.
