RC planes for sale

I am trying to find the best way to sell some of my husband's 1/4 & 1/3 scale airplanes.

He flew giant scale, and he is ill now. I have many different models, engines, etc. Some are in fairly good shape, but I do not know how to advertise them. He has Piper Cubs, Pitts Special, many bi-planes, and a few gliders and trainers.

I have kits and many partially built or ready to cover planes.

Any ideas?

Pitts & planes for sale

Hello Mark,
I am sorry to hear about your wife. I do have a Pitts Special, and I have not answered any other e-mails lately, as my husband was re-hospitalized. I do not know how it could be shipped. I am not sure. I will try to add some pics, as well as other items, prices, etc, but I did not have the time. I am not sure if it is one of the pictures which I submitted-I think so, it is on the facebook site I think. Please let me know if you are interested.

Hey Paula, hope things are going well. My wife is fighting cancer for the third time, so I kind of understand about your situation. My story: I'm trying to get "back" into the hobby after about twenty years. MAN, things have changed. I'm looking for a large scale Pitts Special, but most companies have discontinued. Getting planes sold

Hello, sorry to hear about your husband. My best idea is goto the club he flew at, or find a Rc flying club close by and take the planes out there during the weekends. If it's windy many pilots will not be there. And if you can't cart all that stuff there take photos. Hope that's helpful. I'd come look at them but I live in Chattanooga. People buy stuff out at my field all the time. Sometimes fields have a place to put up for sale picture too.

Get an Appraisal

Get in touch with some of your husband's RC plane buddies or get in touch with your locally sanctioned club. In any event, get someone with some expertise to help you. The planes and equipment need to be appraised. You have no idea of the value of either, do you? You could have planes worth hundreds or thousands of dollars and equipment worth the same. You're going to end up being taken advantage of by some unscrupulous buyer(s) and that will make all of us ill. Get some reasonable idea of the value before you offer to sell any of these items.

Hello,
Just an update. I have not sold any planes as of yet; I had to put it on hold until now. I had a few pics, not really good ones, as I had taken them outside under a tent, and it reflected the blue hue. They are in an a/c storage unit now, and it is more difficult to get the pics, but I will try. I also have many parts, one or two helicopters, partially finished planes, and some military planes. If you are interested, please let me know what you are looking for and what your price range is, and maybe I have what you are looking for. This would be helpful, as this is an overwhelming task for me.

Selling your large scale planes

Hi -

You might want to post pictures - they attract attention - and also state where you live and how far you'd be willing to drive (if you are) to meet someone to hand over one of these planes. I know that most people do not ship large planes - too much hassle \ expense \ risk of damage. And if you're near NY City I'm intersted!

You can post them here.

Craig's list is another way to advertise your planes for free. You can sell them on RC Universe to, but I think you have to pay for that.
