Product for removing water from glow fuel?

by Rion

Hey!

I found your page via a google search, and love the loads of
info, but I was hoping you could help a friend of mine and I out with a
problem.

I heard of a 3M product a few years ago that you could dump in your
fuel, and it would absorb water, then when you finished off that bottle of
fuel, you dumped it out and baked it to dry it out, and reused it.

I can't think for the life of me the brand name, and wondered if a still-active flyer might be able to ask around...

- any ideas?

Thanks again,

Rion

Fuel additive

I've never heard of that product but whatever you do, never add something like that because it could potentially gum up your fuel line or your engine.

As long as you close the fuel container immediately after you fill your tank you should not have a problem with water as long as you don't keep it from one season to the next.

I think that fuel manufacturers would most certainly indicate this sort of product but what you would be doing is contaminating the fuel and you would never get any sympathy (or refund) from them doing this sort of thing.
