"The Parkzone T-28 Trojan is a semi-scale replica of the
well renowned piston-powered U.S. military trainer!"

You really get your money's worth with this all inclusive package. The RTF T-28 Trojan takes less than a half on hour to put together with absolutely everything you need to fly included.

This model airplane truly lives up to its full scale counterpart with its ability to act as a very stable trainer airplane and at the same time have the capability to perform just about any aerobatic maneuver with authority!

Do you want to spend your time flying a high performance scale model but don't feel like spending months building one? Whether your a complete newbie or a seasoned pilot, the T-28 Trojan is your bird!

Unlike most park flyers, all the components are industry standard components that can be used in future planes should you ever retire your bird. AKA crash it beyond repair ;) It happens!

Flying the ParkZone T-28

The ParkZone T-28 Trojan is definitely the most stable flying scale warbird on the market, although it's not as stable as a standard high wing trainer.

Parkzone T-28 Trojan

The ParkZone T-28 Trojan is definitely a contender for your first RC trainer airplane if you have a good instructor with a buddy box.

Generally speaking, the T-28 would probably be a better choice for your second RC airplane if you are interested in learning and perfecting advanced aerobatic maneuvers with nice looking scale bird.

Trainer Characteristics

This airplane has all of the characteristics of an ideal RC trainer airplane with the exception of a top mounted wing high.

  • Dihedral
  • Semi-Symmetrical Airfoil
  • Tricycle Landing Gear

The ParkZone T-28 has just enough dihedral to produce that self correcting characteristic that a beginner needs while maintaining it's aerobatic ability that intermediate and advanced pilots thrive on.

In a similar manner, the semi-symmetrical airfoil increases lift for slow landings and take-offs but doesn't increase the lift to the point where it drastically hinders the aerobatic capabilities of the airplane.

The tricycle gear provides for easy ground handling for take off's and landings. The gear also absorbs much of the shock from those rough landing which will help eliminate the need for those pesky landing gear repairs. The tricycle landing gear also helps give the T-28 its scale appearance.

Aerobatic Capabilities

With a flip of a switch from low rates to high rates, this calm docile trainer airplane transforms into an aggressive aerobatic machine! The T-28 is capable of performing just about every aerobatic maneuver in the book with authority.

Bottom line, this airplane will make you look good while learning and perfecting those challenging maneuvers!

Quality Re-useable Components

The ParkZone T-28 Trojan RTF comes with everything needed to fly. If you already have a 4-channel radio and receiver you can save some money by getting the plug-n-play version.

When you buy the T-28 Trojan you are making an investment. All of the components, including the Li-Po balance charger, can be used with your future airplanes. If you take the time to add the cost of each component you will quickly realize that the ParkZone T-28 Trojan is a heck of a deal!

Radio System

Parkzone Transmitter (T672) 4 Channel FM 72 MHz 3D2

The ZX10 transmitter is a fully functioning 5 channel 72Mhz radio. It includes high and low rates, servo reversing, a trainer switch, and even an X-port activation switch.

The 7-channel receiver is equipped with an X-port plug so you can add an X-port accessory such as the combat or aerial drop module to your ParkZone T-28 or any other airplane with this radio system!

The four included servo's can be used with any standard receiver in future aircraft.

Brushless Outrunner Motor

Parkzone 480 Brushless Outrunner Motor

The Parkzone T-28 comes with the powerful factory installed 480 brushless outrunner motor.

Outrunner motors attach directly to the propeller eliminating the necessity for an awkward and noisy gearbox. You can forget about spending time and money replacing those pesky stripped gears!

Electronic Speed Controller

No need for time consuming and confusing programming of the ESC. All you need to do is simply plug the motor into the pre-programmed 25-AMP electric speed controller and your ready to go.

Li-Po Battery

The 11.1V, 1800mAh Li-Po battery provides a high level of power and performance!

If you're flying aggressively, this bird averages around 6 to 7 minutes per flight. If you lay off the throttle for an easy and relaxing flight you can expect to get around 8 to 9 minutes.

Balancing Li-Po Charger

The ParkZone T-28 Trojan is the only park flyer that I am aware of that comes with a balancing charger. A balancing charger greatly extends the life and performance of the Li-Po battery pack by making sure each cell is charged equally.

Parkzone DC 2-3 Cell Li-Po Fast Charger

Li-Po batteries have the potential to be dangerous if changed incorrectly. This charger was designed with the beginner in mind as it takes all the guess work out of the procedure.

No dials or settings, just connect the battery to the charger, push the button, and it will let you know when the battery is charged! It's almost impossible to screw up with this charger...

This charger plugs directly into the cigarette lighter of your car so you can recharge as many times as you'd like while in the field.

Construction

The ParkZone T-28 Trojan is constructed of relatively new material on the market called of Z-Foam. This is a very strong, lightweight, durable material that resembles styrofoam but is much easier to repair. It also has a very attractive shiny appearance that really makes it look like the full scale T-28.

Assembly

The T-28 really lives up to its ready-to-fly status. It takes less than 30 minutes to put together. Slide the horizontal stabilizer into the fuse and secure with the included tape. Attached the quick links to the already installed pushrods. Snap the landing gear into place. Slide the wing into place and tighten the holding screw. Hook the servos to the receiver and your ready fly!

After you've charged the battery of course : )

The removable canopy is locked into place by the means of a sturdy magnet. This allows quick and easy access to the electronics. A very convenient feature.

Summary

Whether you're a seasoned pilot or a newcomer, the ParkZone T-28 Trojan has plenty to offer. While stable enough for a beginner, the T-28 is plenty aerobatic and allows for a tremendous amount of growing room. In other words, this is definitely one trainer that you will not get bored with!

Besides its sturdy and agile flight characteristics, you really get a bang for your buck with high quality re-useable electronics. With all of the components being standard, your heart won't be as broken after your ParkZone T-28 takes its last breath. Its soul will live on when its internals are installed into another airframe!

Replacement parts for the Parkzone T-28 parts are readily available which is most definetely a plus!
