In flight, engine dies when set back to idle?

Hi, I have a magnum 46xls engine and runs perfect on the ground, and runs well in flight But when set back to idle for landing approach it DIES almost every time ?


I am learning to fly again after many years and my instructor is baffled as well. Can you help as slowly losing interest. Cheers Daryl
