Maybe only need to replace RX
by: Matt

Hi Manny,

What plane do you have?

If the ESC and RX of your park flyer are two separate entities then you should only have to replace the RX with a FASST RX. Assuming the servos are compatible.

One easy way to tell if the servos are compatible with your RX is to plug them into your existing FASST RX and do a range test. Most all servos are compatible, but I have ran into some ParkZone servos that didn't play well with one of my Hitec receivers.

Many parkflyers use what are referred to as "bricks". This is when they combine the RX, ESC, and sometimes even the servos onto one circuit board in order to save money.

If you let me know what plane you have I can be able to tell you for sure.

Thanks,

Matt

Thanks for the response. The Park Flyer I have is using FM 72mhz band. I have another plane that uses 2.4 Ghz FASST. I would like to convert the FM band plane to take advantage of the Fasst TX I use on my 2.4 Ghz plane. I have the binding plug to use on a new RX. Is this possible to do just by exchangeing the ESC & RX? My concern is, will the servos still respond?

Thanks everyone,

Manny

in a nut shell, no

I am not sure what you mean FM to digital? You trying to convert to PCM? or 2.4 Ghz?

Not matter what you are trying to convert to, the transmitter and receiver must be the same technology. You cant use 72MHz transmitter with 2.4Ghz receiver.

Even all 2.4Ghz aren't compatible with all 2.4Ghz receivers. Depends on the brand.

I am not sure what you are asking, but I can tell you that you cant change to a different type of modulation without changing both the transmitter and receiver...
