How long?

I have been out of aeromodelling for a lot longer than I care to think about!

Lets put it this way, my gear was early!!!27mgz,and glow motors were just coming more available. There was no such thing as artf or rtf, and everything was built of balsa and tissue,

Ah, the smell of dope! Not the recreational variety.

You're right about things changing. In the past couple of years electric flight has really taken off. The prices of brushless motors and lipo batteries have come down to earth. I love my glow planes, but electrics are so much easier to deal with and can be just as powerful these days!

Spread Spectrum radios is another big change in the last few years. It's a welcomed change I might add! Sure is nice not to have to worry about accidentally shooting someone down, or worrying about someone shooting your plane down because of someone using the same frequency!

How long has it been since you were first in the hobby?
