GMS 2000 engine trouble

G'day,

My GMS 2000 engine won't run unless its on full throttle.

It will start fine, on not much throttle, but if left idling or on half throttle after 30 seconds it will cough, splatter and die.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks,Ike

Try the pinch test on the high end first
by: Matt

I suggest performing the Pinch Test when the engine is running full throttle.

If the high end is too rich, the RPM's will increase quite a bit when you pinch the fuel supply. You want the high end set where the RPM's increase ever so slightly when you pinch the tubing. You always want the engine just a little bit rich, never set it lean. If the engine is lean the engine will stop immediately when you pinch the tubing with no rpm increase.

If you are still having problems after the high end is set correctly, you will need to adjust the low end needle as G@rfield suggested. If you must adjust the low end remember that very tiny adjustments on the low end needle makes a very big difference. So only turn the low speed needle in a very tiny bit to lean it out.

Let us know how it goes!

Low Speed neddle
by: G@rfield

Looks like you need to tune your engine.
My guess is that your low speed neddle is to rich
