glow plug problems

by thomas
(memphis)

I have a 90 supertiger 2 stroke that is new. I did the breaking-in and thought I had it ready for flight.

But when I got to the field every time I took the battery of the glow plug it quit running. It stumbled a little when going from idle to full throttle.

I pulled the glow plug and tested it and it was red hot. Help!

Sounds like it's too rich
by: Matt

Hey ronnie,

Sounds like it's too rich.

To verify try the pinch test.

If the engine climbs in RPM's before dying during the pinch test, it is too rich. Turn the needle in in small increments until the RPM's only rise slightly before quiting when you perform the pinch test.

Make sure it does rise slightly because setting the needle too lean will damaged the engine.

Once you get the high end straightened out you may have to readjust the low end.

Sorry for the delay in response, I was on vacation away from internet access...

I hope this helps!

Matt
