Engine Stalls when Plane Pointed Straight Up?

After I tune the engine, it sounds good. Then when I point the plane straight up, it just sputters and then stalls?

Idle or Full Throttle when Stalling?
by: Anonymous

Is this a two stroke or four stroke engine?

Is the engine at idle when it stalls, or are you giving it full throttle when you are holding it up? This is important for determining whether the low end or high end is the problem.

It is possible that the high end needle may be a bit too lean. Try opening it up a couple of notches to see if that helps.

If that doesn't help, make sure the fuel tubing is good, with no pin holes any where. It may be be a good idea to replace the tubing just to eliminate that as a possible cause. Check your clunk, make sure it is installed correctly.

Just need to eliminate one thing at a time until you find it. If those suggestions don't help please let me know.

And try to provide as much detail as possible so we can get to the bottom of this. Really need to know if it is dying at full throttle or idle.

Best of Luck!

Matt
