E-Flite Airplanes

I'm a huge fan of E-Flite airplanes for several reasons. They fly great, they are easy to assembly, it's easy to choose the electrical components, and spare parts are readily available. If you fly like I do, spare parts are very important!

I can say with confidence that you won't find an RC airplane manufacturer with as good of customer service. They stand by their product and that's important.

Aerobatic Balsa Aircraft

If you want an electric RC airplane that flies like the best, then you should buy one that is designed by the best!

The E-Flite selection of aerobatic balsa airplanes were designed by some of the best RC pilots in the world including Quique Somenzini and Mike McConville. Their trophies are proof that they know what it takes to design a high performance airplane.

I can personally vouch for the Pitts Model 12E, it really does fly like a dream. Unfortunately I can't exactly fly like Quiquie or Mike, so the first one recently bit the dust after two seasons...I like it so much I just ordered my second one!

Carbon-Z Wings

Quique Somenzini recently developed a foam/carbon fiber hybrid wing design that is currently used with the Carbon-Z Yak 54. It combines carbon-fiber and plywood with traditional Z-foam to produce a wing that is just a strong as a light-weight wood constructed wing, but is easily repairable just like Z-foam. It's the best of both worlds!

Currently this wing is only being used with the Carbon-Z Yak 54. From personal experience I can say this wing can take a beating! (yeah, I crash a lot...) I've glued my Yak 54 back together more times than you can shake a stick at and the wing has never failed. I did have to do a little gluing to the foam on the tip of the wing, but the carbon fiber and plywood backbone of the wing has not fail yet!

Not only is this new wing design sturdy and easily repairable, it is very sturdy in flight. This airplane flies solid just like a balsa constructed airplane with very little wing flex. I guess you have to fly one to know what I mean, but trust me when I say she flies solid as a rock! Hard to believe it's foam...
