Best Affordable Radio for BNF Planes?

What's the best affordable radio for BNF airplanes?

Hi , I am relatively new to flying RC airplanes. I started with a HobbyZone Champ RTF. It's a great little RC plane and it's easy and fun to fly .

I recently bought an Ultra Micro T-28 BNF. To be honest, I'm having lots of problem flying it. I keep crashing it!

I am using the same radio from the HobbyZone Champ which is a ParkZone Spektrum 2.4 Ghs DSM2 .

I am considering upgrading to a Spektrum DX5e transmitter

Realistically, would it make that big of a difference for flying the Ultra Micro T28? Or should I just keep practicing with it on my old radio?

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated . Thanks

Dx6i

Spend the money to get the DX6i or DX7. This will allow you more growth in the future as well as setting up expo. My guess is that if you had expo setup on the um t-28, it'd be less touchy and would be easier flying for you.

I've read nothing but good/great reviews on the flying of the um T-28. Spend the extra money on the DX6i or DX7, you won't regret it.

new radio may help, but practice is the key

RC Dude is right, if you plan to stay in the hobby you may as well go ahead and get a nice radio.

You will be able to set your trims and not be worried about bumping them when your not flying. You can have multiple models. high/low rates. expo, all kinds of goodies. It really makes things much easier.

Keep in mind the DX5 has none of these cool features. I wouldn't recommend the DX5 personally. It is cheap, but I'd rather save up for at least a DX6i.

But don't think that a new radio is going to turn you into a great pilot. It takes practice, practice, practice, and more practice.

RC Dude make some good recommendations. I personally have the DX6i and I like it.
