Air in fuel line of glow engine

by Rob
(Chandler, AZ)

Hello again.

I noticed that I have air bubbles in the fuel line before and after the carburetor. After reading some past posts, I followed a suggestion and submerged my tank under water and blew through the crab line and then muffler line to see if I get any air bubbles.

Sure enough I got some. Although very small I would like to eliminate them.

The problem for me is that the air is coming through the rubber plug openings where the brass tubes come out. I am not sure what to use to seal it/them.

First I thought I would use window caulking but would nitro fuel eat through that???

Second idea was 5 min epoxy, but that turns solid when it dries. Would the vibrations break apart the bond between rubber and brass???

Or should I buy a new rubber plug??? Any ideas??

stoppers are cheap, buy a new one
by: Matt

I would just buy a new stopper. They are cheap.

Sullivan Fuel Tank Stopper - Universal

To be on the safe side, I would also replace the tubing. It could be slightly smashed which could cause it not to seal properly with the stopper.
