4 blade prop selection

I have a House of Balsa P 51 kit. I am about to build and purchased a TR 35-36C Brushless Motor.

Flying weight will be approx 1250 Gr.
Wingspan 43"/1092mm.

Can anyone size a 4 blade prop for me?

Thanks! Matt

Here's my 2 cents..

Hi Matt,

Hopefully someone will come a long that has this plane and can offer a better answer.

I did some research and according the listing on Hobby King, your motor is equivalent to an AXI 2808.

There AXI 2808/24 has a KV rating very close to yours.

Check out these specs on the AXI 2808/24

At the bottom of that page there is a chart which indicates a 2 bladed prop of 9x5 would be suitable.

This is a cool chart showing how to convert from 2 blades to 3 blades to 4 blades. Unfortunately it looks like the chart doesn't go small enough for your application.

However, if you follow the logic of the chart by dropping the diameter and pitch by 1 you would wind up with a 8x4 four bladed prop.

Again, hopefully someone with experience with this set up will chime in. But this is what I was able to come up with.

Its probably a trial and error thing until she flies the way you like it.

Hope this helps...

Let me know what you choose and how it works out!

Matt
