2 stroke to 4 stroke conversion

yes

Can I change from a 2 stroke that's in my trainer to a 4 stroke with almost the same power as the 2 stroke?

I have a tower trainer 40 with a .46 pro glow engine is this possible?

Hi Joe,

There is no reason why you can't replace your 2 stroke with a four stroke.

Since a four strokes only fires every other revolution, it takes a larger four stroke to get the same power a two stroke.

So you will need to replace your .46 engine with probably a 60 size four stroke to get the same power. You will need a bigger diameter prop as well.

Also be sure to rebalance your airplane to compensate for the larger engine.

Hope this helps!

Matt
